St. Vincent De Paul

Today we went to St. Vincent De Paul and toured there center. It was very interesting to see how many homeless people there were that were just at one of the homeless shelters. This was so so cool and it was also cool that my mom knew the lady that gave us a tour, Roslin. She was very nice to all of us and could awnser almost every question we asked. When we were there we took a tour of the inside of the main building and went to see all of the other buildings, but could not come inside because it was almost all places that housed homeless kids or it was their school. Then we went through the health center. After that we went to back to our cars and got our bags we made at school with toiletry tooth paste ect. in it and blankets so we could give it to homeless people currently on the streets not in a shelter. Then we went back to school and it was the end of the day.

Wild Animal Park

Today we went to the Wild Animal Park and went to a shack near the African section of the park. Then we listened to a couple guest speakers. It was very interesting for a little while but gat a little boring towards the end. During one of the guest speakers Keon fell asleep and started to snor and I could hear him from across the room. Mr Wagner woke him up and I dont think he fell asleep again, but it was pretty funny! After the guest speakers we all went outside and piled into a open back truck that took us all to the spot we would be planting. On the way we went by the south African exibit it was very nice to see that the whole time we worked. My group was Vincent, Grant and I. We planted three in our group and maybe two others in the other groups because we finished fastly. When we were done we drove on the back side of that exibit and it was just as cool. Then we all went back to our cars and drove back to school. Then someone was nice enough that they boght us pizzas, they were really good. Then me and Nilo worked on a benifit concert for child and domestic abuse. It is April 11 after school.

GLBT,balboa park, and special delivery

Today we went to the GLBT center and talked to a laddie that was a lesbian that was rejected by her family when she "came out of the closet". We took a tour around this whole center and it was really cool to see what they did. It was very interesting to see a place that was one of the biggest GLBT centers. Then we went to Balboa park and ate lunch and played three flags up. Last we went to a place that gave people with aids or a disease that made it kind of hard for them to do much, so they have people deliver their meals to them.
